SUBJECT: STATEMENT OF WORK: National Fire Protection Services (NFPA) 1851 Advanced Cleaning, Inspection and Sanitizing of PPE
Defense Logistics Agency Installation Management at Susquehanna Fire Department (DM- FSSF) is seeking a third-party vendor to provide the department with advanced cleaning, inspection and repair for firefighter protective gear (PPE). The process should adhere strictly to NFPA 1851 – Standard on Selection, care, and maintenance of Protective Ensembles for Structural and Proximity Firefighting – edition 2020.
The department will have each complete set of firefighter gear advanced cleaned, inspected, and sanitized twice a year (every 6-months) in accordance with NFPA 1851 code. The vendor is required to come on site, Defense Distribution Center, Susquehanna, and perform this service.
The vendor will make necessary alterations or repairs for normal wear and use items. If major repairs outside normal wear and use require repair, they will need to be shipped out separately at additional cost for repairs. Additionally, the vendor will record all findings on each set of gear and provide DM-FSSF with written results and of what, if any repairs were to be made.
DM-FSSF is a full-time career fire department located in New Cumberland, Pennsylvania (PA) responsible for providing services to the Defense Distribution Center, Susquehanna Installation.
