About this file

This Statement of Work (SOW) details the procurement and replacement of four laboratory fume hoods for the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard (PSNS) in Bremerton, Washington. The project involves demolishing and removing four existing fume hoods that are over 20 years old and installing four new BMC Airfoil Bypass Fume Hoods with specific configurations: two 6-foot and two 8-foot models. Each fume hood will include specialized features such as electrical outlets, switches, air and gas connections, digital airflow monitors, epoxy resin work surfaces, and various storage cabinets (acid and flammable storage).

The estimated project cost is $99,520, with an estimated 40 work hours required. The contractor must be a U.S. citizen and will have access to a controlled industrial area. The work is limited to Building 59 laboratory, and the contractor may need to coordinate with NAVFAC for utility isolation during demolition and installation. The fume hoods will have electric power, water, and natural gas connections, and the installation requires field testing by the vendor to verify functionality. The project will be overseen by a government representative and requires quality assurance to ensure the newly installed equipment is in good working order.
