If any welds do not meet inspection criteria, the door should be removed from service until repaired or replaced. The doors are required to stop movement if the operator removes pressure from the door switch. Controls shall be installed where they prevent the operator from entering hazardous areas and shall provide the operator a clear view of door travel. A onetime inspection should be performed to test door movement and if the hangar door travels up or down without the operator remaining at the door control panel, replacement of the opening switch with a pressure sensitive switch should be accomplished immediately. The facility has the potential of being exposed to the outside elements overnight. Doors will be open to eye level and remain open for duration of the inspection.
