STATEMENT OF WORK (SOW)
FOR
CRANE RENTAL
(CRASH AND RECOVERY)
DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES:
In the event of an aircraft incident/accident or if an aircraft becomes disabled on/off runway at Shaw AFB or within the local area, Shaw AFB will need to secure a 20- to 50-ton crane with an operator. We need the capability to lift the wreckage from the ground to a 40-foot flatbed trailer. Shaw AFB has all the rigging equipment and personnel to perform the lift. As much notice as possible will be given to the contractor with approximately one hour as the minimum.
The contractor shall arrive within 2 hours of the placed BPA call. All personnel involved in the recovery procedure sign a non-disclosure agreement, agreeing not to release any information regarding the incident/accident. The contractor will be required to provide a 20- to 50-ton crane operator that is familiar with lifting an aircraft if available. Replacement hooks will need to be brought to the site to ensure the ability to connect the sling and belly bands to the provided crane. The operator or replacement operator shall stay on-scene until released by the recovery team chief (identifiable by a blue hard hat). The contractors must understand that he/she is in charge of his/her rig but the team chief is in charge of the operation; however, all personnel will work hand in hand in order to complete the operation quickly, safely, and professionally.
