With a state-of-the-art design, Lunar iDXA offers research-grade image resolution and clarity with exacting precision, designed to provide you a high degree of clinical confidence across all body types for bone health and body composition. Consider Lunar iDXA not only for today's imaging needs but also as an enduring platform for the future.
Lunar iDXA offers the latest generation of DXA technology from GE Healthcare.
Lunar iDXA delivers crisp, high resolution images of all skeletal sites. It clearly renders the end plates on spine images and identifies intervertebral spaces easily. You can see proximal femur details like the femoral head, visualize cortical thickness, and see unprecedented total body images. It's vertebral assessment is comparable to radiographs in identifying and classifying deformities concerning etiology, grade, and shape, while using a lower dose of radiation.
Lunar iDXA enables precise measurements of the bone, allowing you to track changes that had previously been too minor to detect.
You can better manage treatment plans, which promotes better patient compliance.
A large scan window plus high weight limit and arm height on the Lunar iDXA comfortably accommodate many patient sizes and conditions.
A breadth of applications and features with the enCORE software platform are available for a wide range of patients.

Non-seated Forearm Allows a non-seated position for forearm measurement.
Total Body BMD Total Body measurement and analysis provides an estimate of bone mineral density for the entire body as well as regional results. This feature is only available with Full Size tables.
FRAX Fracture Risk Tool FRAX 10-Year Fracture Risk provides an estimate of 10-year probability of hip fracture and 10-year probability of an osteoporotic fracture for men and postmenopausal women ages 40-90 years.
Dual Vertebral Assessment (DVA includes: LVA, APVA, Lateral BMD) DVA performs both Lateral (LVA) and Anterior-Posterior (APVA) Vertebral Assessments to view the entire spine (L5 to T4) in one exam for qualitative visual assessment, helping to identify vertebral deformations, fractures and estimate vertebral heights.
Lateral BMD spine measurement and analysis provides an estimate for the lumbar spine. Six point automated morphometry or vertebral deformities self-assessment. Dual or Single Energy Imaging.
Pediatric - AP Spine Provides an estimate of bone mineral density for the lumbar spine for patients from birth to 20 years old. Z-Scores, age matched percentages, or centiles are used to compare pediatric patients to their peers. Reference data is available for males and females 5-19 years old depending on the reference population.
Pediatric - Femur Provides an estimate of bone mineral density for the proximal femur for patients from birth to 20 years old. Z-Scores, age matched percentages, or centiles are used to compare pediatric patients to their peers. Reference data is available for males and females 5-19 years old depending on the reference population.

Orthopedic Knee Orthopedic Knee measurement and analysis provides an estimate of the bone mineral density around knee implants pre- and post-surgery.
Orthopedic Hip Allows the accurate measurement of the Bone Mineral Density and Bone Mineral Content around the implant. For a hip implant, the standard 7 Gruen zones or the 19 extended Gruen zones are automatically positioned or customized regions of interest (ROI's) that can be customized and copied to another scanned image. Prosthesis, metal fastenings, and other artifacts are automatically excluded from the analyzed region.
Advanced Hip Analysis Advanced Hip Assessment software allows the accurate measurement of the Hip Axis Length (HAL) in mm, the upper neck femoral BMD for better prediction of femoral neck fracture risk & Femur strength Index (FSI) using Cross Sectional Area (CSA), Cross Sectional Moment of Inertia (CSMI) for an improved patient fracture risk evaluation. Provided with HAL reference data.
Spine Geometry The Dual Energy Vertebral Assessment (DVA) has been enhanced to add a spine geometry analysis calculation, providing lateral and anterior views of the spine with soft tissue equalization to assess spinal curvature using Cobb angle. Measurements displayed in separate reports that accompany either of the existing LVA or APVA analysis reports.
Hand Allows a complete acquisition of the hand with an automated TOTAL ROI and customs analysis.
Total Body Composition This feature provides BMC, lean and fat tissue composition results in grams and %fat for a total body measurement. Total and segmental ROI are available as well as dedicated Android and Gynoid ROI. The Patient BMI is plotted on a graph with the WHO criteria for Obesity. Color Fat Mapping (only with Lunar iDXA). Flexible trend graph is also provided for an easier patient follow up.
Total Body Composition is only available in full size tables.
