About this file

This document is a justification for a sole source federal contract award. The Defense Logistics Agency Land and Maritime is seeking to procure Motorola APX6000 UHF handheld portable radios from Motorola Solutions to replace aging Motorola XTS5000 radios for the Navy Region Northwest Enterprise Land Mobile Radio system. The APX6000 radios are required to maintain compatibility with the existing trunking system and secure communication abilities that are programmed by Motorola. As the original manufacturer, only Motorola can provide radios that meet the interoperability and programming requirements. The estimated cost is not provided. Delivery is needed to support the Navy Region Northwest radio network which provides emergency communications for personnel and facilities at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard.
