About this file

This justification document supports a sole source solicitation for an adapter gun mounting item. The Defense Logistics Agency Land and Maritime requires 19 units of the National Stock Number 1005-13-122-9640 adapter to support the HH-60 PAVEHAWK helicopter. The incumbent and only known source is FN HERSTAL, which possesses the required technical data and engineering knowledge to manufacture the item. Efforts will be made to publicize the solicitation on SAM.gov and the DIBBS website from August 15, 2023 for 15 days to identify any additional interested and capable sources. However, only FN HERSTAL has been approved by the Engineering Support Activity to supply the adapter. The anticipated fair and reasonable price is based on the most recent sole source contract awarded to FN HERSTAL on April 26, 2023 for three units at $67,708.72 each.
