About this file

This Shipping Instructions document outlines the delivery and product requirements for the State of Iowa's Food Items procurement for the CDC Warehouse located in Woodward, Iowa. The document establishes mandatory specifications that bidders must satisfy to be considered responsible and eligible for award. Products must be delivered to the warehouse on pallets, shrink-wrapped, and transported in insulated, clean trailers with all freight charges and fuel costs included in the bid price. Bidders are required to ship only the products indicated in their submitted bid and must deliver items within 30 days of purchase order receipt; delivery beyond this timeframe will result in the contract being awarded to the next lowest bidder or re-solicitation. All products must comply with USDA grade standards for both product and container condition, be properly labeled, and bidders must be prepared to provide proof of pack date, pack origin, and pack date code keys upon request.

The document specifies that damaged or refused freight becomes the bidder's responsibility to pick up and replace at their own expense, including any costs incurred by the CDC Warehouse. Canned products cannot be received in frozen condition, and freight that does not meet agency specifications will be refused in its entirety. Bidders may be required to submit product samples for testing prior to award. The agency will give consideration to products packed in the USA. All shipping costs are the bidder's responsibility and must be incorporated into the overall bid price, with delivery constituting a critical evaluation factor for determining contract award and bidder responsibility.
