About this file

This is a Single Feasible Source Purchase Form filed by the Missouri Department of Conservation for curriculum development services. The MDC seeks a contract for custom development of the Discover Nature Schools (DNS) Curriculum, a comprehensive educational program spanning grades kindergarten through 12 that teaches Missouri's native plants, animals, and habitats. The scope of work encompasses curriculum writing, alignment with Missouri Learning Standards and Next Generation Science Standards, content editing, ADA compliance styling, and print and digital design services for DNS textbooks. The contract period is effective from the contract date through one year, with two additional one-year renewal options available. The project requires collaboration between MDC, subject matter experts, and educators to create Missouri-specific and conservation-focused curriculum content.

Vivayic, Inc. has been designated as the sole feasible source provider under RSMo 34.044, as it is the only company offering the comprehensive custom curriculum development services—including writing, editing, design, and web design capabilities—necessary to meet MDC's specific requirements. The State is pursuing this acquisition as a single feasible source procurement due to the proprietary nature of the required services. The procurement is being managed by the Missouri Office of Administration, with Sean Mayer serving as the buyer. The contract requisition number is RM012603554, and the single feasible source number is STATE 0000000492SL.

Single Feasible Source Purchase

Title:
Discover Nature Schools Curriculum Development Services
Description:
The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) requires a contract for custom development of the Discover Nature Schools (DNS) Curriculum, which includes curriculum development, alignment of content to state education standards and grade level expectations, editing, styling for ADA compliance, and print and digital design services for Discover Nature Schools textbooks (Grades K-12). The curriculum development requires collaboration with MDC and subject matter experts and educators to develop Missouri-specific and conservation-specific curriculum.

Vivayic, Inc. qualifies as a single feasible source because they are the only company that offers the level of custom development needed by MDC for custom curriculum design and development services that meet MDC’s requirements for the development of the DNS Curriculum. Vivayic, Inc. is the only company that provides full development of the curriculum that includes writing, editing, design, and web design. The resulting curriculum teaches students from pre-kindergarten through high school about Missouri’s native plants, animals, and habitats and connects them with nature. The curriculum meets the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education Missouri Learning Standards (MLS), Next Generation Science Standards (Next Gen), and Cross Curricular Standards.

According to RSMo 34.044, a single feasible source can be utilized when the product/service requirement is proprietary and only available from a single provider. As a result, this represents a proprietary requirement that meets the criteria as a single feasible source under RSMo 34.044 and the State is pursuing this acquisition as a Single Feasible Source.
