This procurement is being competed using full and open competition. All interested contractors may submit a quotation ***The National Institute of Standards and Technology is seeking to purchase a 532nm Pump Laser***
BACKGROUND
This laser will be used for Raman coupling the internal states of atoms and for trapping them in vacuum. The control requires high power of light from the pumped laser, which in turn requires an 18 W pump, and our sensitive experiments require very low noise.
***All interested Contractors shall provide a quote for the following:
Minimum Requirements:
The system shall meet or exceed the technical specifications identified below. All items must be new. Used or remanufactured equipment will not be considered for award.
Line Item 001: 532 nm Pump Laser
1. Shall have a 18W Output Power minimum and a 30W maximum.
2. Shall be linearly polarized, either horizontal or vertical
3. Shall have a 532 nm wavelength
4. Computer interface shall be USB or Ethernet
5. The Collimated output, shall be M2 below 1.2
6. Beam Ellipticity shall be below 15%
7. Power stability shall be below 0.5% rms
8. Optical noises shall be below 0.2% rms
9. The laser shall consist of a laser head and at most a single additional unit. If anything other than the laser head is needed to make the laser operational, there shall be at most, one (1) additional unit.
10. Pointing stability below < 2 micro-rad per degree C.
11. Single frequency operation (e.g., 1 MHz line width) will be given preference over non-single frequency. However, when comparing two single frequency lasers, 0.1 MHz does not add more value than 1 MHz. Stronger consideration WILL BE given to being single frequency; however, among alternatives that are all single frequency, stronger consideration WILL NOT be given to smaller linewidth.
Inspection/Acceptance In addition to the inspection and acceptance terms articulated in 52.212-4, the Government reserves the right to perform such performance tests and evaluations as defined below to verify specified system performance.
