STATEMENT OF WORK
1. Objective/Requirements
This requirement is for the acquisition of the NETZSCH LFA 717 HyperFlash System for NASA Glenn Research Center (GRC). The information listed below is required to complete this purchase.
2. Characteristics, Scope, and Specs
LFA 717 HyperFlash Flash Diffusivity Testing Apparatus for solids according to ASTM E 1461 Temperature range according to the selected furnace and cooling system consisting of:
QTY PART # DESCRIPTION
1 LFA71700A11.000-00 High performance test instrument for contactless measurement of thermal diffusivity, specific heat and thermal conductivity in accordance with
ASTM E 1461; ASTM E2585;DIN EN 821-2;
DIN 30905; ISO 22007-4;
ISO 18755; ISO 13826 and based on DIN EN 1159-2.
An embedded Xenon flash system is used to generate the short light pulses at the bottom of a plan-parallel sample disk. A high-speed detector acquires the temperature increase on the upper side of the sample.
The short distances between sample, flash source and detector result in the highest sensitivity and reliability of the measured signals. The integrated sample changer (ASC) allows the measurement of up to 16 different samples in one test setup.
The gas tight sample chamber can be purged with up to three different gases, controlled via the installed gas frits and 3 magnetic valves (two for purge gas inlet to the sample and one for protective gas for the measuring cell), and gas flow adjustment via installed frits (constant bottle pressure necessary) The base system consists of a light source, power supplies, control electronics, amplifiers and the data acquisition system, colored LED status bar with clear indication of the instrument status and measurement progress, front housing with sign panel.
The System is prepared for the integration of various options such as gas flow control via a built-in MFC system, ZoomOptics for focusing on defined sample areas, filter systems, cooling devices and an automatic detector refill accessory.
Thermal diffusivity range: 0.01 to 2000 mm²/s Specific heat: no limitation, solids only Thermal conductivity range: 0.1 to 3000 W/(m*K) Light pulse source: Xenon flash lamp, with long life time, wide spectrum wave length 150 ... 2000 nm, pulse length selectable between 10 to 1500 μs.
