About this file

This is a Statement of Work for Advanced Multi-Spectral Detector Systems Engineering and Management Services Support under Code 662 at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC), effective August 11, 2026, with a performance period of one year.

The GSFC Astrophysics Division requires comprehensive engineering leadership and technical expertise to support critical detector development programs spanning x-ray, microwave, and infrared domains. The contractor must provide specialized services in five primary areas: (1) Advanced Detector Packaging and Integration—executing end-to-end packaging solutions for high-sensitivity detector systems, leading complex integration processes for micro-electrical and opto-mechanical assemblies in cleanroom environments, implementing quality assurance protocols, and pioneering next-generation packaging methodologies through post-cryogenic test analysis; (2) Technical Design and Engineering Support—providing mechanical engineering expertise using state-of-the-art CAD software, developing precision engineering drawings and technical specifications for testing apparatus across diverse temperature ranges, executing failure analysis, and establishing standardized operating procedures for detector evaluation; (3) Micro-Fabrication and Wire Bonding Direction—leading wire bonding operations across three research units, orchestrating calibration and maintenance of specialized equipment, directing technical teams, and establishing optimized wire bonding protocols; (4) Facilities and Resources Management—overseeing inventory control and resource allocation for multiple cleanrooms and laboratories, implementing strategic procurement planning, maintaining cleanroom standards, and coordinating equipment maintenance; and (5) Personnel Leadership and Development—implementing mentoring initiatives and formulating strategic workforce capabilities aligned with emerging detector technology requirements. All work will be performed on-site at Goddard Space Flight Center. Deliverables include regular status reports, comprehensive documentation of enhanced packaging methodologies, updated standard operating procedures for wire bonding processes, annual personnel development plans, and strategic capability development roadmaps. No government-furnished equipment or information is provided.
