About this file
This is a Statement of Work for NASA Langley Research Center requiring procurement of an Evident Vanta Core V2CA handheld X-ray fluorescence (XRF) analyzer with three specialized analysis methods. The analyzer must be configured with a silver anode, 50 kV X-ray tube, silicon drift detector, in-line aiming camera, 3 mm X-ray spot collimator, and 5 megapixel panoramic sample camera. Included accessories consist of a sealed rugged carrying case, 2 lithium ion batteries, battery charger, USB cable, USB drive with user manuals, 10 spare analysis windows, wireless LAN dongle, and power supply with USA power cord. The device includes a three-year end-to-end warranty for the entire analyzer and a five-year warranty on the X-ray tube, excluding negligent damage. Lead time is 10 business days.
The three required methods are: (1) Alloy Plus Method (part number METHOD-A3 V2CA) for analyzing metal samples measuring multiple elements including magnesium through bismuth; (2) Soil Method (part number METHOD-S3 V2CA) using Compton Normalized algorithm with three independent beams measuring over 30 elements including rare earth elements, with a solid SiO2 blank standard included; and (3) Coating Method (part number METHOD-CT V2CA) measuring up to three coating layers on metals with a 10 business day lead time. The analyzer and methods must be fully compatible with NASA and partner workflows, specifically the validated lunar dust-loading measurement technique (JSC methodology), to ensure data fidelity and cross-site comparability. Performance of work is required within 30 days after receipt of order (ARO) at NASA Langley Research Center, 8 West Taylor Street, Hampton, VA 23681.
