About this file
This document is a Statement of Work (SOW) for the replacement of two Waukesha bearing assemblies (C-008-037-004 and C-019-040-002) used in the W-8 engine at the NASA Glenn Research Center. The existing bearings have worn down due to normal usage over the past 20+ years. NASA intends to issue a sole source contract to Waukesha Bearings Corporation, the sole provider of these specific replacement bearings, under FAR 13.106-1(b)(1)(i). The procurement will be conducted as a simplified acquisition of commercial items and services under FAR Part 12 and FAR Part 13. The NAICS code is 811310. Interested organizations may submit capability statements by October 31, 2024, which will be evaluated to determine if the procurement should be competed. The primary and secondary points of contact are Cody Guidry and Karen Artis, respectively.

Statement of Work for W-8 Waukesha Bearing Replacements
The Waukesha Replacements C-008-037-004 and C-019-040-002 are the required tilting pad journal and journal/thrust bearing assemblies that are used in W-8 of Bldg 23 (Engine Research Building) at Glenn Research Center. These are direct replacements for existing Waukesha bearings. Significant engineering has been spent developing these bearings and incorporating them into the design of the Legacy Facility Hardware. Specifically, the bearings are installed in NASA PN 58032M77A100, W-8 Bearing Housing Assembly. Existing bearings have been worn due to normal use over the past 20+ years of service. A qty of 1x each of the replacement bearing assemblies C-008-037-004 and C-019-040-002 are requested to replace worn bearings.
