About this file
This document is a Statement of Work (SOW) for a 100 kW power supply with battery emulation capability. The power supply must have the ability to supply and absorb power with a voltage up to 1200V and current up to 333A. Key requirements include programmable interface, network interface for remote control, voltage/current data updated at 500 Hz, configurable overvoltage and overcurrent limits, expansion capability to 1 MW, ability to store charge/discharge profiles for battery emulation, and high accuracy of voltage and current output.
The related federal contract opportunity is a sole source procurement by NASA for the same 100 kW power supply with battery emulation, to be awarded to TESTFORCE USA, Inc. The procurement will use FAR Part 12 and 13 procedures for commercial items. NASA intends to make a sole source award to TESTFORCE USA as the only provider of the required power supply. Interested parties may submit capability statements by 5/28/2024 for consideration of a competitive procurement, but the government has sole discretion on the acquisition approach.

Statement of Work 100kW Power Supply with Battery Emulation Capability to Supply and Absorb Power, Voltage up to 1200V, Current Up to 333A
Description:
A power supply is required for a dynamometer laboratory that can supply up to 100kW DC output power. The supply must also be able to absorb generated power and return the power to the facility mains.
Specifications:
The primary specifications for the power supply are:
1. Output Voltage from 0 V to 1200 V.
2. Output current capability from -333A (absorbing) to +333A (supplying).
3. DC Output Power from -100 kW (absorbing) to +100 kW (supplying).
4. Output voltage slew rate of 200 V/ms or greater.
5. AC Input Power: 480 V, 3 phase power input interface.
6. Programmable interface on the unit.
7. Network interface for remote programming and control of the unit.
8. Voltage, Current data at unit or remote interface updated 500 Hz or greater (equivalent to an update interval of 2 ms or shorter).
9. Voltage current data
10. Configurable overvoltage limit.
11. Configurable overcurrent limit.
12. Unit must have interfaces for expansion to 1 megawatt power output.
13. Expansion to higher power must be achievable locally (at customer site) without return to vendor.
14. Capable of storing charge/discharge time-based profiles for automated battery emulation or battery cycling.
15. Output voltage within 0.5% of commanded output voltage.
16. Output current within 0.5% of commanded output current.
17. No external active cooling required.
18. Mounted on wheels.
19. Height including wheels less than 82 inches.
20. Width less than 30 inches.
A single unit meeting the specifications above is required.
