About this file
This document outlines requirements for a federal contract to provide strategic astrophysics technology project support. The contractor will design and implement cryogenic test packages for sensitive far-infrared detector systems at Goddard Space Flight Center, including a superconducting multiplexer screening package, kilo-pixel focal plane package, and circuit layout interfacing the multiplexer package with a kilo-pixel detector array. The period of performance is January 1, 2024 through December 31, 2024 for a cost not to exceed $144,236. Interested parties were required to submit capabilities by January 17, 2024 for the procuring agency, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration Shared Services Center, to determine whether to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis or sole source it to the identified incumbent, Global Science & Technology Inc.

STATEMENT OF WORK
1. Objective/Requirements Elmer Sharp to design and implement cryogenic test packages for sensitive far-infrared detectors systems, including a superconducting multiplexer screening package, kilo-pixel focal plane package, and the circuit layout that interfaces the multiplexer package with a kilo-pixel superconducting detector array. He will lead the assembly of the focal plane package, and ensure compatibility of the cryogenic environment for testing the package with existing ground-support equipment. He will also work with the project principle investigator to redesign and validate the performance of the optical cryogenic system to enable metrology of samples cooled to 4K.
2. Characteristics, Scope, and Specs Elmer Sharp will support the “Advancing Readout and Optical Coupling of Large- Format Mid-IR Transition-Edge Sensor Arrays” ROSES/SAT project at an approximate rate of 0.6 FTEs from 1/1/24 to 12/31/24 (for reference only) and a cost (not to exceed) $144,236 over period of performance noted below in Section 4. No travel or procurement is authorized for this task.
3. Place of Performance Goddard Space Flight Center – Building 34 – Rm C136 (laboratory) Building 34 – Rm C205 (laboratory)
4. Period of Performance
1/1/2024 – 12/31/2024
