Signature (typed name): Marshall Schroeder, Ph.D.
Technical Point of Contact (TPOC) or Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR)
Description of the Requirement:
The Army Research Laboratory (ARL) requires five (5) glove box workstations for work under a controlled atmosphere with less than one (1) part per million oxygen and moisture with the following charcteristics:
1.) The workstations shall be two-user, with all four (4) gloves/ports on a single side.
2.) The workstations shall be equipped with an automatic gas purifier circulation system for cleaning inert gas and to absorb oxygen (O2) and water (H2O).
3.) The workstations shall be on the size scale of greater than or equal to (≥) 2,500 millimeters (mm) wide, ≥780 mm deep, and ≥900 mm high.
4.) The gloveboxes shall each be equipped with a mini antechamber (about 150 mm diameter and about 400 mm in length). In addition, the gloveboxes should have a larger vacuum oven antechamber with a maximum heating temperature of 150 degrees Celsius (°C) or greater.
5.) The gloveboxes must also have four (4) x three-eighths inches (3/8”) gas or vacuum feedthroughs with valve, and eight (8) electrical feedthroughts (binding posts) for cell testing.
6.) Due to the regular use of solvents, the gloveboxes shall be equipped with a re-generable molecular sieve-based solvent absorber. Solvent traps based on activated carbon or equivalent are not acceptable. The glovebox shall also be equipped with a solvent sensor, capable of detecting volatile organic compound concentrations (0-2000 parts per million) in inert gas or air.
7.) To be aligned with facility requirements, the system shall be tested and labeled Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory (NRTL) and the purifier must be labeled UL61010, which is an Underwriters Laboratory standard for Electrical Equipment for Measurement, Control, and Laboratory Use.
8.) The Contractor shall deliver the product to the following location no later than (NLT) 15 October 2021.
