Project Background The Rocky Mountain Laboratories conducts innovative scientific research on viral agents requiring high or maximum containment (Biosafety Level-2 to Biosafety Level-4). Research studies focus on vector/reservoir transmission, viral ecology, pathogenesis, pathophysiology, and host immune response of these viral pathogens. A significant goal is to develop diagnostics, vaccines, and therapeutics against these agents. The scanning system is used daily to analyze samples and achieve these goals. The current ScanScope FL system works in conjunction with other scanning systems in the lab. The system is currently using an outdated and unsupported operating system which could cause the equipment to fail at any time. Repairs are not possible, instead this upgrade is the only way to esure this equipment stays functional.

Failure to use OEM parts, software and certified technicians could result in damage to this equipment. The equipment must be upgraded now because the previous software and computer were based on Windows XP which is an operating system that is no longer supported.
