As outlined in Amendment 0001 of Request for Quote RFQP03021600018, a site visit was conducted on Wednesday, November 30, 2016, at 9:00 a.m, Eastern Time. Three contractors attended. Below are questions which were asked along with the answers.

Question: Does the current vendor use a trailer to swap out the compactors because of the time constraints?

Answer: They keep "spare" compactors on site and rotate them out.

Question: Are the power packs for the compactors vendor or Bureau owned equipment?

Answer: The power packs are owned (and serviced) by the vendor. The Low, Medium, and CAMP institutions are 208 volt 3 phase and USP 1 and USP 2 (both penitentiaries) are 480 volt 3 phase.

Question: Are rails required?

Answer: Yes

Question: What is the in and out process time for clearing the security procedures at each institution?

Answer: Each institution is approximately 10 minutes each way (subject to change ((rare but it can happen)) due to institutional conditions such as emergencies, inclement weather, etc) , with the exception of the CAMP. Because of the security level , there is no gated sally-port where the truck is inspected like the other 4 institutions are.

Question: What can the drivers take in and out with them (i.e. tools, etc.)?

Answer: Nothing . No tools are allowed inside the institutions to include shovels, crow bars, rakes, or anything of the like. No weapons, ammunition , knives, electronic equipment, cameras, cell phones or anything of the like is allowed either. Additionally, if the trucks are equipped with permanently cameras, they must be shielded upon entering as NO photography or video of ANY KIND is allowed inside a federal prison .

Question: The model number on the compactor appears to indicate the compactors are 25 yard machines where your statement of work requires 30 yard compactors. Which way is it?

Answer: It has been verified by using the serial number through the manufacturer that the compactors are 30 yard compactors. The numbers contained within the model number have no bearing on the actual capacity of the compactor.
