Questions & Answers 19 Jul 2016 Site Visit
1) Question: Who is going to unplug the comm/computer equipment and move it for this project?
Answer: Government personnel will unplug all communication and computer equipment and move/place it on their desks.
2) Question: Will we need to do an asbestos abatement in the XP command section and if so how do should we go about this contractually?
Answer: The XP command section has been removed from the requirement. Process with carpet installation without the XP command section.
3) Question: 2.0 Of the SOW (description of work) mentions porcelain floor tile. Please verify there is no porcelain floor tile being installed.
Answer: This is a typographical error. The SOW has been revised to reflect correct language. No porcelain tile will be installed.
4) Question: Can a photograph of the cubicle walls (on the XP side) including metal thresholds be taken and shared?
Answer: Photos will be uploaded to the AMRDEC secure site. Email Lt Bossert at andrew.bossert.1@us.af.mil to request access to the photos.
5) Question: Will we be permitted to leave the cubicles on the XP side in place and carpet around them?
Answer: No, a 2nd Site Visit has been scheduled to allow contractors to assess the area to see if cubicles can be lifted for carpet install.
6) Question: In XP area there is 6” base. Would like us to provide a 6” carpet base?
Answer: Provide like height base in all areas. If there is 6” base in an area to receive carpet base, provide 6” carpet base.
7) Question: In XP area where there is carpet and pad installed it looks like the area could be HOT what would you like us to do include it or is it going to be taken out of the bid?
Answer: The XP command section has been removed from the requirement. Process with carpet installation without the XP command section.
8) Question: In XP area where there is carpet and pad the base is 4” would you like us to bid a 6” to match the other areas of XP?
Answer: Yes, propose a 6” base to match the other areas of XP.
9) Question: Is there a staging area to store all the carpet tile?
Answer: No, the contractors shall provide their own staging container with a staging plan approved by Civil Engineering. Upon award, the contractor shall submit an approved AF Form 103.
10) Question: Is the government going to empty the free standing file cabinets top 2 draws?
Answer: Yes, government personnel shall empty the free standing file cabinets’ top two drawers.
11) Question: All upper cabinets of the cubicles needs to be emptied out so the cubicles can be lifted otherwise they could fall apart?
Answer: Yes, government personnel shall empty all upper cabinets of the cubicles.
12) Question: Will we need a plumber to pressurize toilet in bathroom behind XP command section?
Answer: No, the XP command section has been removed from the requirement.
13) Question: During the walk I volunteered to have one of our installers, who is familiar with the ‘lift’ type system of working with modular furniture, come to the building and assess the furniture in the XP area. All of us who attended were concerned that area’s furniture might not be suitable for a ‘lift’. Our expert will not be available until early next week, but the assessment should be immediate. Will that work for you? There will still be almost 2 weeks from that assessment and the bid. Should we set up a second site visit?
Answer: A 2nd Site Visit has been scheduled to allow contractors to assess the area to see if the cubicles can be lifted.
