About this file
This document is an Addendum to Request for Proposal (RFP) 936300-01 issued by the Iowa Department of Administrative Services (DAS) for the design of an estimated 5,000 SF roof replacement project for the Iowa School for the Deaf Infirmary Building located in Council Bluffs, Iowa. The addendum clarifies the project scope, which includes the replacement of the existing EPDM roofing system, and provides responses to various questions from prospective offerors regarding the budget, roof assembly, hazardous materials testing, warranty requirements, and preferred roofing membrane and attachment types. The addendum also specifies that reimbursables are to be included in the lump sum fee and that the fee should be broken down by the four design phases outlined in the RFP, along with the provision of hourly rates and anticipated hours by position.
The initial construction budget for this project is estimated at $107,000. The State currently prefers the use of EPDM roofing membrane but is open to reviewing recommendations from the selected design firm. The State will provide core samples and hazardous materials testing, and the selected design team will be responsible for coordinating the recommended locations of the core samples.
