6.0 SERVICES/SCOPE OF WORK
The College seeks an Instructor/training consultant to deliver professional development workshops for students enrolled in the non-credit Certified Nursing Assistant program.
The CNA program is scheduled year-round, Monday through Friday, as part of MCC’s Corporate College non-credit open enrollment catalog. There is no program delivery on dates the College is closed. A calendar of College closure dates is provided annually.
Program delivery mode is in-person, onsite at MCC’s downtown campus (321 State Street)..
Below is a description of the CNA Program & Professional Development:
Certified Nursing Assistant – This basic training program is designed as a boot camp style training. The curriculum covers professional skills, mandated nurse assistant content, and practical skill development. Through lecture, group activity, exams, hands-on demonstrations, and clinical experience, students will demonstrate the competencies required to qualify to sit for the New York State exam. Students will complete mandated CNA program content, lab work, and clinical experience.
MCC provides professional workforce development training alongside our CNA curriculum to offer our students the best chance of success when they enter the workforce.
Three in four employers say they have a hard time finding graduates with the soft skills their companies need (SHRM, 2019). We noticed that after program completion, our healthcare students fell into this statistic as they still did not possess the necessary social and professional skills needed to be successful in the workforce, retain employment, or acquire promotions/increases, even after securing their Nursing Assistant credential. Our goal is to circumvent this challenge by providing professional development to include workplace power skills to each student that enrolls in our Certified Nursing Assistant program.
