About this file
This document is an Addendum I to Request for Proposal (RFP) #24021 for the Memorial Park Pool Renovations project, issued by the Unified Government of Athens-Clarke County (ACCGov). The addendum provides clarification and additional information in response to questions raised by prospective bidders, including details about the existing pool liner, skimmers, lighting, pump, and filter. The scope of work includes removing the existing liner, adding new non-skid tile, depth markers, and caulking, as well as addressing any additional repairs needed after the pool bottom is inspected. The addendum also confirms the desired location for a potential waterslide feature.
Regarding pricing and other salient information, the addendum states that the sand from the filter system will need to be removed and disposed of off-site. It also provides confirmation about the existing pump motor being 7.5 HP and three-phase. The current filter is at least 20 years old, which may indicate the need for a potential filter replacement. The Unified Government of Athens-Clarke County reserves the right to reject any and all proposals and award the contract based on the highest and best interest of the local government.

ADDENDUM I
DATE: November 6, 2023
TO: ALL PROSPECTIVE BIDDERS
FROM: Angie Perteet, Senior Buyer
RE: ADDENDUM I, “RFP # 24021 - Memorial Park Pool Renovations”
Pursuant to RFP #24021 the following information is provided:
1. QUESTION: Can you provide some background on what the surface of the pool was like before the liner was installed? If there is no certainty that can be provided, would it be possible to add a clause that states “additional repairs and scope may need to be added AFTER liner is removed and pool bottom is inspected”?
ANSWER: We don’t have any information available about what is under the liner. ACCGov understands that additional repairs and scope may need to be added AFTER liner is removed and pool bottom is inspected.
2. QUESTION: Can you confirm that no lane lines or targets under liner and that no lane line tile or targets need to be installed on new surface?
ANSWER: No lane lines are needed on the new surface. We do want to include the ACC logo in a similar manner that appears on the current liner.
3. QUESTION: Can you confirm that new 6x6 frost proof tile and depth markers per health code will need to be added once liner is removed?
ANSWER: Yes, new markers are needed.
4. QUESTION: After new Tile installed, can you confirm that new “caulk” will need to be added above tile line that is designed for shell movement?
ANSWER: Yes, new caulking will be needed.
5. QUESTION: Can you confirm the number of skimmers in the pool?
ANSWER: There are ten skimmers in the pool.
6. QUESTION: Can you confirm that adding new nonskid tile on edge of each step and at break in deep end (per code) is part of scope?
ANSWER: Yes, non-skid tile and all other code requirements are part of the scope.
7. QUESTION: For filter sand recharge, does old sand need to be removed from site or can it be dumped and raked down the hill outside of pump room?
ANSWER: Sand will need to be removed and disposed of away from the site.
8. QUESTION: If waterslide is installed, is there a desired location?
ANSWER: The location for a slide or other play feature will be at the deepest part of the pool, near the former location of the diving board.
9. QUESTION: Please confirm pump HP is 7.5 HP.
ANSWER: Confirmed, the pump motor is 7.5 HP.
10. QUESTION: Can you confirm if the pump is single phase or three phase?
ANSWER: The pump motor is three phase.
11. QUESTION: Can you confirm the number of lights that will need to be filled in?
ANSWER: There are 10 to 12 lights to be removed.
12. QUESTION: Do you have an idea on the current age of the filter? There is a useful life age that may help us understand if filter is close to replacement.
ANSWER: The current filter is at least 20 years old.
