About this file
This is a Request for Information (RFI)/Sources Sought Notice issued by Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division, JSF Division for electromagnetically hardened CENA probe kits (CENA-I-PRBA-07). The requirement seeks all necessary parts and services to ensure operability of the kits for field use. The hand-held test tool and ruggedized laptop system must measure impedance between 0 and 100 Ohms (4% tolerance) while performing frequency sweeps between 7 GHz and 14 GHz, executing 20 continuous sweeps within 2 seconds with a minimum of 181 data points per sweep. The system must maintain output power of 3 dBm, interface via USB connection, operate in electromagnetic environments up to 200 V/meter, include surface protection, weigh no more than 60 lbs total, be operable by a single person, function in shipboard environments, and hold CE Certification and C1D2 compliance.
Interested vendors must submit responses within 7 calendar days to gregory.p.szczyglowski.civ@us.navy.mil, limited to 2 pages. Responses should include administrative information (company name, CAGE code, contact details, and business type designation) and capability information detailing whether offerings are commercial, modified-commercial, or non-commercial products, plus manufacturer status (original equipment manufacturer, authorized manufacturer, or authorized distributor). The Government emphasizes this RFI is for information-gathering purposes only and does not constitute a formal solicitation or intent to award a contract. No proprietary information should be submitted without prior approval, and responses will not be returned or formally evaluated with feedback provided to respondents.

Requirement Name: CENA Probe Kits
PSC Code: 6625
NAICS Code: 334515
Summary: Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division, JSF Division has a requirement to provide all necessary parts and services to ensure the operability of electromagnetically hardened CENA probe kits (CENA-I-PRBA-07) for field use.
Salient Characteristics/Specifications:
Part Number: CENA-I-PRBA-07
System Function: Hand-held test tool and ruggedized laptop designed to discern reflection loss on semi-resistive surfaces and convert it to an impedance value.
Impedance Range: Capable of measuring impedance between 0 and 100 Ohms with a tolerance of ±4%.
Operating Frequency: Must perform a frequency sweep between 7 GHz and 14 GHz.
Performance Metrics:
Maintains an output power of 3 dBm (0.002 Watts).
Executes 20 continuous sweeps within a 2-second timeframe upon being triggered.
Samples a minimum of 181 data points per sweep across the operational band.
Averages the 20 sweeps to determine the final average impedance value.
Power and Data Interface: The hand-held tool must be powered by and interface with the ruggedized laptop via a USB connection.
Electromagnetic Compatibility: Must be fully operational in an environment with up to 200 V/meter of electromagnetic interference.
Surface Protection: The test probe must include interface protection to prevent damage to sensitive surfaces during measurement.
Portability and Handling:
The total weight of the system, including the hand-held tool, ruggedized laptop, and protective/transportable case, shall not exceed 60 lbs.
The system must be designed for operation by a single person.
Environmental Suitability: The system must be fully compatible with and operable in shipboard environments.
Certifications: Must be CE Certified and C1D2 compliant.
