Locker Requirements List:

1. Locker System Requirements

a. Lockers shall be mounted to mobile carriages that run on a track that is nominally anchored to the floor

b. Each set of lockers shall have a handwheel of some kind that applies a mechanical advantage to the motion of the lockers along the track to allow for easy and simple repositioning

c. The locker system motion system shall be entirely manual and shall be able to be installed in an unpowered environment

d. The lockers installed at the ends of the length of the installation shall be fixed and immobile. In addition, each of the end lockers shall be provided with four (4) duplex receptacle electrical knockouts. At a minimum, two (2) knockouts shall be provided located on top of the locker in both right and left rear corners.

e. The carriage system below the lockers shall not exceed 7 inches in height

f. The total installation shall fit within a space of approximately 5ft in depth by 22.5 ft in length by 8 ft high.

g. Locker System shall be able to fit unassembled through a standard single width personnel door for installation.

h. Locker System shall come with at least six (6) master keys

i. Every aisle shall be protected with a 3” high metal safety sweep, hinged from the carriage using spring steel leaf springs, with the base edge maximum 3/4” from the floor. The carriage(s) shall stop when depressed at any location along the leading edge of the sweep surface.

j. Safety sweep shall have bright, red and white safety identification tape applied full length marking its location. Safety sweep shall run the full length of both sides of each moveable carriage for full aisle coverage. Both sides of an opened aisle shall be protected. No electrical power or batteries shall be required.

k. Mechanical safety sweep shall automatically reset to enable mobile system users to freely and safely back carriages away from aisle obstructions simply by reversing the direction of the rotating handle.

l. Locker System shall accommodate a minimum of 36 lockers. Conceptual arrangement provided for illustration:

2. Individual Locker Requirements

a. Lockers shall be 18” in width, 18” in depth and 84” in height and bright blue in color (FS

15183)

b. Lockers shall be of all welded construction with a minimum of 18 – gauge steel. Riveting or bolting of structural members shall not be permitted.

c. Lockers shall include single full height doors constructed with double walls. The interior of each door shall be perforated with a standard peg board pattern. The pattern shall be constructed of .203” holes located on 1” centers.

d. Lockers shall be provided with a keyed lock with at least two (2) individual keys and a ‘slam lock’ feature.

e. Lockers shall include at least two modular, adjustable, full width shelves.

f. Lockers shall come provisioned with a modular, removable EZ-Rail system to allow use of standard plastic storage bins. Lockers shall come with a minimum of three (3) rails.

g. Lockers shall come provisioned with a minimum of two (2) removable, adjustable internal drawers with a minimum height of 6”. Drawers shall not be lockable.

h. Lockers shall come with a double-hook kit suitable for hanging backpacks, travel bags, and garments.

i. Lockers shall come with side panel lances evenly spaced on three (3) inch centers.

Lances shall provide the flexibility of on-site, end-user reconfiguring/adding internal components anytime, anywhere, now or in the future.

j. The inner door panel height shall be minimum 70% of external door height.

k. Locker Tag Numbers shall be provided on each locker per customer requirement

l. Lockers shall come with neoprene silencers on each door.

m. Corner gussets shall be MIG and spot welded in each of the four front corners of the locker for increased stiffness and rigidity.

n. Locker End Panels shall not have exposed fasteners to prevent catching of clothing or personnel.

o. Each modular drawers shall have a tested weight capacity rating of fifty (50) lbs
