About this file

This document summarizes a sole source justification and related federal contract opportunity notice. The National Agricultural Library requires perpetual electronic access to 15 journals from the American Society for Microbiology in order to fulfill its mandate as the primary agricultural information resource for the United States. Market research confirmed the American Society for Microbiology is the only source capable of providing the required proprietary publications with perpetual access rights for all authorized USDA personnel. The sole source contract value averages over $50,000 annually based on procurement history. The related opportunity notice indicates the intent to award a sole source contract to the American Society for Microbiology but is not a request for proposals. Interested parties must submit documentation by June 30th proving their ability to fulfill the requirement in order to be considered for a competitive procurement.
