About this file
This document is a Request for Information (RFI) from the Library of Congress seeking capability statements and market research for a specialized document scanner. The Library requires a scanner with an automatic document feeder capable of handling paper sizes from 4x6 to 20x24 inches, supporting paper weights between 50-180 g/m2, and accommodating fragile or brittle paper types. The scanner must meet the FADGI 3 Star specification for "Documents (Unbound): General Collections".
The RFI includes specific questions for potential vendors, focusing on the scanner's FADGI star rating, current federal agency and cultural heritage institution usage, government procurement vehicle availability, and willingness to provide an onsite demonstration at the Library of Congress. The RFI is a voluntary market research exercise with no guarantee of future business, and vendors are encouraged to provide feedback on a draft Statement of Work and provide rough order of magnitude pricing estimates. No contract will be awarded as a result of this RFI, and participation is purely for the Library's market research purposes.
