QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS – MARCH 24, 2021

36C24221B0024 – MRI Site Prep at Castle Point Presently the area of work is in daily use with patients. Will there be a particular date or time slot for the facility to be taken off line to accommodate the job?

As of now, there is not a set date as to when the facility will be taken off-line. There is on-going coordination with the employees from Radiology services to provide either a portable MRI or other accommodations. The site will need to be shut down prior to work commencing so the existing MRI equipment can be removed. Siemens is responsible for removal of the existing system.

How much time is allotted to finish the job before patient use?

The period of performance is 240 calendar days after issuance of the Notice to Proceed.

2. The existing switchboard shows the new HVAC panel and the new Siemens panel to be installed within the same room. Who determines the exact location, since they cannot be on the same wall as shown on the prints?

ES-102 is correct. Any minor deviations can be coordinated with COR.

3. Would it be permissible to run pipe and wiring for feeders and branch circuits under the raised electrostatic floor?

Main feeders in conduit from MDP to new panel PP-HVAC may be installed below the raised floor.

4. Will there be any exterior wall demo to remove/replace Siemens equipment?

There is an existing 8’-6” x 8’-6” masonry panel in the back of the MRI scan room will be removed by Siemens in order to take out any existing equipment. Prior to construction a temporary wall with a door will be built at this location (see detail 7 on GI-003). All access during construction will be through there.

5. A significant part of the work on the electrical drawings shows Siemens providing and doing the work. Are you coordinating with Siemens or do I have to?

Contractor will have to coordinate with COR. See specification 01 00 00 General Requirements Sub Section 1.6 and the MEP Phasing Plan on GI-002.

6. Will there be a secure area designated for staging tools and materials during the job duration? If nothing inside the building, could we have a construction trailer placed outside?

See site plan (detail #1 on GI-002) for staging area location. Any construction trailer placement to be coordinated with COR 7.Please advise if there are structural drawings we cannot locate any on the beta.sam.gov listing.

The project design documents do not include any structural drawings. There will be minor roof alterations (changing over HVAC equipment, patching holes, etc.) which are shown on the architectural drawings.

8. Will the new MRI will be installed on the Pad that the old MRI was anchored to?

Per the project kickoff meeting (February 3, 2020) it was agreed upon that the new MRI will be installed on the original pad. The existing RF shielding on the floor will be repaired by Siemens shielding vendor.
