About this file

This is a Description of Intended Single Source Purchase (PUR 7776) filed by the Florida Department of Transportation for card reader access control installation. The project involves Siemens Industry, Inc. providing materials and labor to install new access control security devices at the District 2 State Materials Office facility in Gainesville, Florida. The scope includes installation of four interior door card readers and two new security gates, along with associated hardware, software, video intercom components, and entry/exit gate components. The work will be performed during normal business hours Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The contract term is three months. The posting was dated March 19, 2019, with a 15 business day posting period for prospective vendors to provide information regarding their ability to supply the requested commodities or services.

The estimated dollar amount for this single source purchase is $72,035.00. Siemens Industry, Inc. has been identified as the sole source vendor due to its exclusive ability to access and program the SIPASS card reader system currently in use at the FDOT District 2 facility. The agency justification for single source procurement cites that Siemens is the only known vendor with the capability to access the system programming and provide the necessary materials and services. The procurement contact is Destyne Grayson at the Department of Transportation, located at 605 Suwannee Street, MS20, Tallahassee, Florida 32399-0450.
