About this file

This is Addendum No. 2 to the contract documents for SUNY Upstate Medical University's Project 151302/1585, "CH GenSet Quick Connects and POBS Backflow," issued on September 9, 2026. The addendum addresses seven questions received from bidders regarding the scope of work, which includes installation of quick connect docking stations on three emergency generators at Community Hospital and addition of a backflow device to the Physician Office Building South fire protection water service. Key clarifications provided include confirmation that docking stations DS-2 and DS-3 are to be pad mounted on concrete equipment pads with manufacturer-provided leg-stand kits rather than wall mounted; that camlock cable sets shall be provided per specifications with a 50-foot length for each docking station, with configuration, ampacity, and voltage meeting the requirements of each respective station; and that shunt-trip devices are to be factory installed in accordance with the drawings. The addendum confirms that the Cord Blood generator breaker replacement will require contractor field verification, as the generator panel could not be accessed during the design phase, and that the replacement breaker is intended to be installed within the existing generator assembly. The addendum also specifies that contract documents are available through Syracuse Blue Print Company and confirms that missing the August 19 pre-bid meeting does not affect eligibility to participate as a subcontractor.

The addendum contains no information regarding pricing terms, set asides, funding sources, or award dates. All responses to bidder questions are directed to existing contract documents, specifications, and drawings, or require contractor field verification during execution of the work. The project completion timeline remains 225 calendar days from the Notice to Proceed, with sealed bids due September 16, 2026, at 2:00 p.m.

Date of Addendum: September 9, 2026

The following addendum adds to, modifies, or deletes from the drawings and specifications issued in accordance with the Project Manual dated July 22, 2026. This addendum is hereby made a part of the

Contract Documents as though it were originally included therein and must be acknowledged on the Form of Proposal.

This Addendum is three (3) pages answering seven (7) questions.

QUESTIONS RECEIVED:

1. Docking station identification – E-502

a. The Mechanical Room 0419 generator one-line identifies the new docking station as DS-3, while

Sheet E-401 and the Docking Station Schedule on E-501 identify this location as DS-2.

b. The Cord Blood generator one-line identifies the new docking station as DS-2, while Sheets E-401 and E-501 identify this location as DS-3.

c. Please confirm that the correct designations are:

▪ DS-2: Outside Mechanical Room 0419, 2,000A, 120/208V

• Response: Confirmed

▪ DS-3: Outside Cord Blood Building, 1,200A, 277/480V

• Response: Confirmed

2. Docking station mounting configuration

a. Sheet E-401 requires the generator docking stations to be pad mounted. Sheet E-501 includes a concrete equipment-pad detail and requires the docking stations to include leg-stand kits for pad mounting. However, Specification 263633, Paragraph 2.01.E.7, identifies the mounting configuration as wall mounted.

▪ Please confirm that all three docking stations are to be pad mounted on concrete equipment pads with manufacturer-provided leg-stand kits, and that the wall-mounted requirement does not apply.

• Response: Confirmed, all docking stations are to be pad mounted.

3. Portable generator and load-bank cable sets

a. Specification 263633, Paragraph 2.01.F.1, requires “400A camlock cable set; length and quantity as required for connection to portable equipment.”

▪ Please confirm whether the contractor is required to furnish portable camlock cable sets for connection between temporary generators/load banks and each docking station, or whether this requirement is limited to the permanent docking-station connections.

▪ If cable sets are required, please provide the required quantity, conductor configuration, ampacity, voltage rating, and length for each docking station. Camlock cable set shall be provided per specifications.

• Response: Camlock cable set shall be provided per specifications. Configuration, ampacity, voltage shall meet requirements of each docking station. Length shall be 50ft each.

4. Shunt-trip requirements

a. Specification 263633, Paragraph 2.01.E.8.c, contains an incomplete requirement stating “Shunt trip; _____.” Sheet E-502 indicates shunt-trip interlocking between docking-station breakers and also includes a shunt-trip circuit for the load-bank breaker.

▪ Please identify each breaker requiring a shunt-trip accessory and confirm:

• Response: Refer to drawings.

• Required shunt-trip control voltage.

i. Response: Design is for shunt trip to be factory installed in accordance with drawings.

• Source of control power.

i. Response: Design is for shunt trip to be factory installed in accordance with drawings.

• Required sequence of operation.

i. Response: Refer to drawings.

• Whether the shunt-trip devices are factory installed in the docking stations or field installed in existing equipment.

i. Response: Design is for shunt trip to be factory installed in accordance with drawings.

• Required modifications to existing circuit breakers or generator controls.

i. Response: Not applicable.

5. Cord Blood generator breaker replacement

a. The Cord Blood generator one-line on Sheet E-502 requires replacement of the existing generator breaker with a new 1,200A breaker. The existing breaker manufacturer, model, frame, trip unit, accessories, and available fault-current rating are not identified.

▪ Response: This will require contractor field verification as the generator panel was not able to be removed during design.

b. Please provide the basis-of-design manufacturer and required characteristics for the replacement breaker, including:

▪ Breaker type and frame

• Response: This will require contractor field verification as the generator panel was not able to be removed during design.

▪ Interrupting rating

• Response: This will require contractor field verification as the generator panel was not able to be removed during design.

▪ Trip-unit type and required settings

• Response: This will require contractor field verification as the generator panel was not able to be removed during design.

▪ Required accessories and interlocks

• Response: This will require contractor field verification as the generator panel was not able to be removed during design.

▪ Enclosure requirements

• Response: This will require contractor field verification as the generator panel was not able to be removed during design.

▪ Required modifications to the existing generator or associated equipment

• Response: This will require contractor field verification as the generator panel was not able to be removed during design.

c. Please also confirm whether the replacement breaker is intended to be installed within the existing generator assembly or furnished in a separate enclosure.

▪ Response: Intent is to be installed within the existing generator assembly.

6. Please send or identify the current civil drawings, specifications, addenda and planholder list, and confirm whether these portions may be quoted separately to the electrical, fire-protection or general-contract bidders.

▪ Response: Drawings, project manual, addenda, and plan holders are available through

Syracuse Blue Print Company. Please refer to the bid documents for bidding instructions.

7. Please also confirm whether missing the August 19 pre-bid meeting affects eligibility to participate as a subcontractor.

▪ Response: The pre-bid walk-through held on August 19th was not mandatory.
