About this file
This document contains a justification and approval for other than full and open competition for a federal contract opportunity. The Department of Veterans Affairs, Veterans Integrated Service Network 2 required the repair of elevators at the Manhattan Medical Center, including replacing hoist ropes and cleaning and repairing elevator components, at an estimated total cost of $475,000. The sole source award was justified under FAR 19.1406 for award to the service-disabled veteran-owned small business Elevated Technologies, Inc. Market research found Elevated Technologies, Inc. to be the only certified SDVOSB vendor capable of performing the work. The notice of sole source was posted from June 7 to June 14, 2021 and received no responses. Elevated Technologies, Inc. quoted $466,100, which was determined fair and reasonable based on being $8,700 or 2% below the independent cost estimate. The sole source contract was awarded to Elevated Technologies, Inc. on July 15, 2021 for $398,470 to perform the required elevator repairs.
