About this file
This is a Performance Bond document issued by the County of Orange, California, for use in conjunction with a contract for Specialized Veterinarian Services. The bond serves as a guarantee of faithful performance and compliance with contract terms by the contractor. The document establishes the bonding requirements and procedures for contractors entering into agreements with the County of Orange, Sheriff-Coroner. The bond amount, premium rate, contract date, contractor information, and surety company details are to be completed on a case-by-case basis depending on the specific contract award. The bond obligates the principal contractor and surety company to ensure all work is performed according to contract specifications, timelines, and conditions, with the surety waiving notice of any contract changes, extensions, alterations, or modifications.
The bond requires the County to approve both the surety and the bond limits through the CEO/Risk Management office and requires legal form approval from the Office of the County Counsel. Contractor signatures must comply with California Corporations Code section 313, requiring either dual signatures from specified corporate officers or a single officer signature accompanied by written authorization documentation. The surety representative's signature must be notarized with the certificate of notarization attached to the document. The bond includes a clause requiring the surety to cover all reasonable costs and expenses incurred by the County in enforcing the bond obligation. This performance bond is a standard requirement for county contracts and protects the County's interests by ensuring contractor performance and providing recourse in the event of non-compliance or default.
