MAMC 1 CHAIR Armless chair, part of a pair with MAMC 000778, upholstered in turquoise fabric with scallop pattern. Arched back and hard sidepieces and 2 layers of tassel fringes around the edge at bottom of the chair.

MAMC 2 CHAIR Wood armchair with red velvet upholstry. Wicker back includes painting of cherubs pulling wheeled vehicle (chariot?) with woman and child (Madonna and Child?) -- stencil on arms & front legs. Brass tacks.

MAMC 3 CHAIR Red velvet chair with twisting design on arms, stretcher & legs and straight back.

MAMC 4 DESK Black wooden desk with 8 legs & decorative features on sides & legs and a missing drawer. Glass top protector.

MAMC 10 END TABLE Wooden end table with laminated decorative tops (heart shapes at each corner) & carved legs and finial on base. Part of a set with MAMC 000779.

MAMC 11 BUST A bust of Mary McLeod Bethune by Maceo Jeffries with MMB's legacy inscribed around circular pyramid base, entitled "Legacy", made in 1992. Red felt glued to base.

MAMC 13 TABLE, CALLING CARD --TABLE Wooden side or calling card table, scalloped edged round top, turned pedestal with tripod base. Brass covered feet.

MAMC 19 CHAIR Armchair, upholstered in dark green leather, brass nailhead trim around the edges and wooden legs. One of a set of four (MAMC 19, 780, 781,

782) .

MAMC 21 END TABLE Mahogany end table with minimal decoration. The table has 2 drawers & brass drawer pulls. Label on bottom reads: "Mayer 84345."

MAMC 22 PEDESTAL White marble pedestal with decorative post. Top platform (a) is separate from base and column (b).

MAMC 23 CABINET, CHINA Mahogany china closet with 6 drawers in middle including the brass drawer pulls & 2 rectangle doors at ends and 3 shelves with glass door on top.

MAMC 26 MENORAH Brass menorah with brass plate on black wood base inscribed: "In Memory of Rose Ettelson Cohen. " A gift to the NCNW from the National Council of Jewish Women. Part of a set of two with MAMC 000783.

MAMC 27 PAINTING --FRAME, PICTURE Portrait of Mary McLeod Bethune - oil painting in a gilded frame by Anne Beadenkopf from 1953. The picture shows Mary McLeod Bethune standing with her left hand holding a cane. She is wearing a navy velvet dress and the Haitian Medal of Honor and Merit around her neck.

MAMC 29 CHAIR Solid hardwood & deeply saddled chair with arms. Part of a set of 11 chairs with MAMC 29, 784, 785, 786, 787, 788, 789, 790, 791, 792, 793.

Used with conference table MAMC 000030.

MAMC 30 TABLE Long rectangular table with mahogany veneer. Table was used in the back room on the first floor for NCNW meetings.

MAMC 37 CHAIR Solid hardwood & deeply saddled chair with arms.

MAMC 39 DESK Dark wood desk with 8 drawers, 4 on left side, 3 of right side with bottom drawer of double depth, and one in the middle with metal drawer pulls -- carved edges. Glass protective cover.

MAMC 40 BED Twin size bed with twisted legs, head & base boards along with slats, one extra slat. Numbers on bed -- (272 3-3). See also MAMC 800.

Originally cataloged as though there were 8 beds, not 2 beds of 4 components each.

MAMC 127 TELEPHONE Black in color. Crank dial with no dialing holes and label. Label says "ANSWER ONE LONG" knob on dial. Updated by Mike Antonioni, 11/22/04. Telephone designed for use with switchboard.

MAMC 128 TYPEWRITER, MANUAL Underwood manual typewriter, black in color. 14" carriage. Non- QWERTY-standard typing keys are as follows: Row one: 2 through 0 and +-; Row two: QWERTYUIOP and ½ ¼; Row three: ASDFGHJKL ;: and ¢@;

Row four: ZXCVBNM comma-apostrophe? period-colon? slash-question mark. Updated by Mike Antonioni, 11/22/04.

MAMC 129 CANE Wooden stick cane. A twig left at the top forms a handle. Painted dark brown. Very smooth. Handmade. Natural tree limb with twigs whittled off. "162" painted in red on bottom. Paint chipped off in some areas, especially at bottom from use.

MAMC 131 BOX, SHADOW --PRINT, PHOTOGRAPHIC Brown wood frame. Curly maple veneer section on inside molding of frame. Gilt and black border around glass. Inside, pencil "F. H.

Sarfall/March the 27 1880" on tape stuck to frame "1363." Cracked in several places. Gilding coming off. Photographic copy print of Mary Mcleod Bethune's parents in box.

MAMC 133 BOX --BOX, DOCUMENT --BOX, SPICE Square box stained dark brown with brass cutouts decorating each corner. Seven dove-tailed drawers. Each with brass drop handle. There is also a tray with a cutout design in the top part of the box. The lid has a brass lock and the handle on top is slightly crooked. Overall has a Chinese influence. Was originally cited as a doctor's kit by Morristown NHP. John Brucksch of HFC suggests it is a spice box.

MAMC 134 FIRESET Spanish style, painted black; Andirons (a-b); Fender (c); Stand (d);

Tongs (e).

MAMC 136 TRAY --PICTURE, NEEDLEWORK Needlepoint picture encased in wooden tray frame with glass cover.

Glass is cracked in one corner. Picture is a floral wreath in brown, black, green, white, red, pink, orange, blue, lilac. Frame has a handle on each side with two eye screws and wire on back to hang.

MAMC 137 CHAIR Victorian Rococo-Revival period chair, black walnut. Originally Black Horsehair Upholstery. As of 2007 found upholstered in red-on-red leaf pattern brocade fabric. Finger carving on crest rail. Not original to site.

Matching sofa WASO 1257 (not at MAMC). Part of a set with MAMC 000797.

MAMC 138 VASE, BUD --FLOWER, ARTIFICIAL Clear glass bud vase with wide base stem. Rounded bottom which tapers toward top and then curves outward at top. Top has 6 scalloped edges. Artificial red flowers inside.

MAMC 356 FLOWER, ARTIFICIAL Dried flower arrangement with artificial birds (cardinals).

MAMC 357 BASKET --PLANT Artificial fern in woven wood basket. Paired with MAMC 000798.

MAMC 358 PIANO, BABY GRAND Black baby grand piano, Steinway & Sons. On rolling base. Equipped with player piano technology.

MAMC 359 BENCH, PIANO Black adjustable piano bench. Leather upholstery, wood frame and legs, metal adjustment knobs. Likely Steinway & Sons. Goes with piano
