Amendment Number 2

P15PS01053

RESPONSE TO QUESTIONS:

1. Are the molds ready for shipment to the chosen foundry once the contract is awarded? In other words, have the plaster already been through conservation and new rubber and plaster molds made for casting the waxes?

Molds will be ready to ship upon award of the contract.

2. Can you provide any images of the molds?

See 4 photograph images attached. Molds of body are currently in progress. Molds are 74-30

Polytek rubber, hydracal/burlap mother molds, key tabs to hold rubber in mother mold, perimeter flanges drilled to accept ¼” bolts or zip ties. Most seams are cut not shimmed for better seal and registration.

3. Is the deadline firm of flexible at all?

Phased completion and delivery of pieces is option if proposed if we could get parts for one major element at a time. For example if we got the body one week and the chair and base soon after we could consider phasing deliveries. As part of the Technical Evaluation Criteria, the Offeror is asked to confirm the ability to meet the schedule or proposal an alternate schedule considering a revised completion date that is closest to the end date identified.

4. Is the weight available on any of the previous bronze castings of this particular Lincoln?

All weights are unknown.

5. Usually the fitting and welding of the 24 parts is a pretty important step in the process of creating a large statuary. Is the NPS going to TIG weld and chase all of the bronze parts on site and then sand blast and complete the statuary patina on site as well?

Metal assembly and finishing will be performed by an individual with 25 years of art bronze experience and this individual is a National Park Service employee.
