Exterior Painting Project – P15PS00478
QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
QUESTION:
The Period of Performance is 60 days. If the options are awarded do they need be completed within the same 60 days and will the Government "entertain" extending the completion Date from 60 Days to 120 Calendar Days?
ANSWER:
No, but extenuating circumstances will be considered.
QUESTION:
Delays due to inclement weather does not extend the 60 day Period of Performance. – Please confirm.
ANSWER:
Weather will be considered day for day.
QUESTION:
Solicitation states specifies painting and replacement of several buildings gutters. The site Rep stated that the gutters that are bent / broken need to be replaced under the contract. Do you want to bid with the project or leave out and quote on-site while work is being performed? Please clarify the gutter situation.
ANSWER:
Gutter replacement will be covered under the 20% clause.
QUESTION:
Site Rep stated drinking water will not be available. Will water for cleaning the houses be available or do we need to truck all water in?
ANSWER:
All utilities including water are the contractor’s responsibility. Some utilities may be available at some locations: bid for non-availability.
Bathrooms will not be available - please confirm.
ANSWER:
Confirmed. Portable facilities are responsibility of contractor. Location must be approved by
COTR.
QUESTION:
The paint specifications listed Zinsser B-I-N Shellac Primer/Sealer. B-I-N is not an encapsulating primer. Can we use an alternative product?
ANSWER:
LBC (Lead Barrier Compound - Type III) is only acceptable product for Lead surfaces. B-I-N or equivalent for non-lead surfaces.
QUESTION:
Will the Government "designate" the Carpenter Shop Area or another "safe" and secure site for the Contractor's Materials/Equipment Trailer and Dumpster?
ANSWER:
Security is the responsibility of the contractor. A designated area will be determined for storage container and dumpster. Refer SOW page 7 item#13, (Government cannot provide storage space). SOW page 8 item IX - a. No storage facility is available in the Park.
QUESTION:
What is the Weight / Load requirement for the Covered Bridge for a "Motorized Diesel" 20 Feet Scissor Lift Scaffolding?
ANSWER:
No motorized vehicles inside Covered Bridge.
QUESTION:
Will the "Government" entertain or allow Contractors working Extended Hours on Weekdays and Weekends?
ANSWER:
Refer to SOW page 9 section XI - b.
Do "we" (Painting Contractor) repair /replace any "Soffits" that needs attention or does it fall under the scope of work for the "Roofing Contractor"?
ANSWER:
Yes, Soffits need repair/replace – Repair and replacement would be covered under 20% clause.
QUESTION:
Can we sandblast the roof at VK Carpenter shop and what type of repair is required?
ANSWER:
No sandblasting. Just ensure water integrity.
QUESTION:
Should storm windows be removed to paint exterior of window sashes?
ANSWER:
Yes on all occupied buildings. No on all un-occupied buildings.
QUESTION:
The following buildings/items, found on the bid schedule, look like they were recently painted:
#1, #3, #8 (on outside), #12, #15 - Can you clarify if the whole buildings require painting or just the trim?
ANSWER:
The whole building is required to be painted.
QUESTION:
Canal Exploration Center - Do the windows need to be painted on inside and outside or just outside? Does one side of shutters to be painted or two?
ANSWER:
Outside of windows and both sides of shutters.
Jyurovat House - Is the building number actually 696, not 676? What exactly needs painted?
696 is the building number. The house needs painted and line item cost should include the garage and shed.
QUESTION:
CVEEV White Apartment/Garage - Which building is considered the garage?
ANSWER:
CVEEC Garage is on the first floor of apartment, not separate building.
QUESTION:
Everett Covered Bridge - Can you clarify which part of the bridge needs painted?
ANSWER:
Interior and Exterior.
QUESTION:
Lavicka - 2209 Everett Rd, Peninsula - No such address (Rangers didn’t even know!) Is there another address for this building?
ANSWER:
2209 Everett Rd. is correct address.
QUESTION:
Vaughn House - Which buildings need to be painted (there are 5 on the property)?
ANSWER:
House on bid and others (not the Barn) on line item.
QUESTION:
Osborne House - Does the house & garage need painted?
ANSWER:
Yes
Carpenter Shop - Do all 3 vinyl buildings need painted?
Carpenter Shop is a one metal building, not vinyl. Please bid accordingly.
QUESTION:
Johnson/Rodhe House – Does the house & garage require painting?
Yes
