About this file

This document outlines the salient characteristics for an Underwater Bioluminescence Assessment Tool (UBAT) sensor, a UBAT Power and Communication Conversion System (PCCS), and a UBAT sea cable.

The UBAT sensor must have a depth rating of 600 meters, operate from 0-30 degrees Celsius, and have a sampling rate of at least 60 Hz. It must detect photons between 430-700 nm with over 95% reflectance and have a dynamic range of 2.5e6 to 2.5e13 photons/s. The unit should be modular for cleaning and maintenance, and mount inside a 10-inch cylinder.

The PCCS must include a deck unit with 110-220 VAC input and 48 VDC output, a submersible power converter with 48 VDC input and 12 VDC output, a 15-foot sea test cable, and a patch cable.

The sea cable must be 70 meters in length.

The Naval Oceanographic Office seeks to procure these items in accordance with the outlined characteristics via request for information number N6230620PR087NV.
