Statement of Work/Specifications
NTIA000-19-00122
1.0 BACKGROUND
Over the last few years, ITS has been improving its geolocation ability, to include consistent, on-demand access to Global Positioning Satellite (GPS) position and timing information. GPS receivers of the type ITS uses are capable of receiving position correction information from other, outside sources, e.g. Trimble CenterPoint RTX, Satellite-Based Augmentation System (SBAS), and Real-Time Kinematics (RTK). SBAS and CenterPoint RTX are broadcast over the air, and are therefore receivable anywhere GPS signals are. However, the effectiveness of RTK signals are limited to a range within 30 km of the Continuously Operating Reference Station (CORS). At the ITS Boulder Labs, we have excellent access to correction sources via the UNAVCO Plate Boundary Observatory system of CORS. However, these CORS are not universally available in all of the locations that ITS conducts measurement campaigns. Without access to an RTK, the accuracy of position estimates is degraded from millimeter-level accuracy to up to a meter of position error.
2.0 OBJECTIVE
The objective of this Purchase Order is to procure a survey-grade Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) Solution that can deliver millimeter accuracy over a 450 MHz radio link to our vehicle-mounted Trimble BX-982 GNSS while conducting measurements in the field. The Contractor shall provide a Trimble Alloy GNSS Reference receiver, a Trimble Zephyr 3 Geodetic antenna, a tribrach with optical plummet, a tribrach adapter, and an instrument tripod.
(An example using Trimble’s Alloy GNSS reference receiver and associated options/upgrades is included below to illustrate how a company will address the functional requirements.)
3.0 FUNCTIONAL REQUIREMENTS OF THE GNSS REFERENCE RECEIVER, ASSOCIATED OPTIONS, AND ACCESSORIES
