7. Install new backflow prevention devices as required by the Water Authority Having Jurisdiction.
8. Welding: Conform to the requirements and recommendations of NFPA 13.
9. Drains: Pipe drains to discharge at safe points outside of the building, or for auxiliary drains, to mop sinks. Locations of drains shall be indicated on shop and as-built drawings. A map of all drain locations shall be permanently affixed to a visible location near the fire riser to aid in their identification.
10. Waterflow Alarm Switches: Install waterflow switch and adjacent valves in easily accessible locations.
11. Inspector's Test Connection: Install and supply in conformance with NFPA 13, locate in a secured area, and discharge to the exterior of the building.
12. Affix cutout disks, which are created by cutting holes in the walls of pipe for flow switches and non-threaded pipe connections to the respective waterflow switch or pipe connection near to the pipe where they were cut.
13. Sleeves: Provide for pipes passing through masonry or concrete Schedule 10 pipe. Provide space between the pipe and the sleeve in accordance with NFPA 13. Seal this space with a UL Listed through penetration fire stop material per UL assembly listings.
14. Seals: Seal all interior fire rated wall penetrations with fire caulk. Seal all exterior wall penetrations with fire calk or foam insulation and silicone sealing to maintain the fire rating and thermal/moisture integrity of the wall system.
15. Provide pressure gauge at each water flow alarm switch location, riser or feed main, at each sprinkler test connection at the top of each standpipe, at the inlet side of all backflow assemblies, and at each main drain connection. Include pressure gages with connection not less than NPS 1/4-inch and with soft-metal seated globe valve, arranged for draining pipe between gage and valve. Install gages to permit removal where they are not subject to freezing.
16. Provide a pressure relief valve at each system riser or zone riser as required.
17. Securely attach identification signs and tags to control valves, drain valves, and test valves.
Locate hydraulic placard information signs at each sectional control valve where there is a zone water flow switch. A map of any isolation valves installed in the building at locations other than on the fire riser in the riser room shall be permanently affixed to a visible location near the fire riser to aid in their identification.

18. Repair damage to the building or equipment resulting from the installation of the sprinkler system by the installer at no additional expense to the Government.
19. Where details of installation are not given, the installation shall be made using manufacturer's recommended practices or at the direction of the Contracting Officer.
20. This Contractor shall complete the fire protection systems ready for operation, in all respects, as soon as possible. When system is complete and ready for continuous operation, activate the system for its intended use.
21. This Contractor shall remove from the building all rubbish and unused materials due to or connected with this installation. This contractor is responsible for proper removal and disposal of all demolition items, as indicated on the plans or no longer required for a complete operational system. A log of materials with weights of recycled and landfill items shall be provided to the Contracting Officer.
22. All piping and components shall be cleaned and in good condition and free of damage, leakage, and corrosion. All rooms where work was done to be cleaned to restore to normal operation.
E. Installation of Ceiling, Fire Alarm devices, conduits, lighting, and other removed appurtenances
1. Where the ceiling has been fully or partially demolished, restore the ceiling to a finished condition equal to the ceiling condition before construction.
2. The following ceiling assemblies as called out on Attachment A1 Area of Work shall be restored as follows:
a) “Gypsum” (Suspended metal framing with taped drywall): Support grid installed, drywall fastened with drywall screws, drywall taped and finished to match adjacent ceiling.
b) “Hard lid” (Suspended metal framing with finished drywall): Support grid installed, drywall fastened with drywall screws, taped, textured, and painted to match the adjacent surfaces
c) “Glued acoustic” (Suspended metal framing with taped drywall and glued acoustic tile): Support grid installed, drywall fastened with drywall screws, drywall taped, and ceiling tiles adhered to the ceiling to match adjacent tiles.
d) “T-Bar” (Suspended 2 foot by 4 foot ceiling grid with removable acoustic tiles):
Support grid installed, removable ceiling tiles installed to match the adjacent tiles.
Damaged removable ceiling tiles replaced with new ceiling tiles.
e) Restore fire and/or smoke rating to fire separation walls and ceilings
f) Hallways with a smoke separation have a gypsum ceiling and a T-Bar ceiling grid installed. Both ceiling types will need to be restored after replacing the dry sprinkler pipe.
