12] NOTE: All work performed on the vessel will be accomplished as described below unless alternatives are presented in writing BEFORE the work commences and are agreed to by NOAA.
B] SPECIFIC WORK TASKS
1] Haul, clean, block, store, and launch Remove the vessel from the water. Pressure-wash the entire hull, including all surfaces within the tunnel, from sheer line to keel removing all dirt, grime, and marine growth. Similarly, clean all fittings below waterline, including propulsor components, struts, stern tubes, rudders, foils, fins, through-hulls, etc. If the vessel is fitted with waterjets, clean the interior of the jets. Do not damage any existing anti-fouling paint unless further tasks in this SOW require its removal. Clean transducers with a non-metallic brush, taking care to not mark the emitting surface in any way. Clean all surfaces of all anodes with a wire brush.
Block the vessel in a level attitude with the keel (or keels) 36” minimum off the ground. During the cleaning process, temporarily shift individual blocks to ensure that all portions of the hull are cleaned.
Inspect the hull, coatings, and all attachments and report any damage or discrepancies to the TPOC in writing. Provide electrical power to the vessel suitable for its shore power system.
Upon completion of all work done on the hard, launch the vessel, inspect all compartments for leaks, and secure it dockside. If dockside testing or underway trials are required after launch, provide prior notification to the TPOC so NOAA personnel can attend.
2] Recoat hull bottom Prepare the hull surfaces to be painted and apply two coats of Interlux brand Micron-CF antifouling paint. Paint will be applied in accordance with the coating manufacturer’s application requirements.
Provide an extra coat at the hull’s leading edges, including the hydrofoils, tracking fins, and each hull.
During the coating process, temporarily shift individual blocks under the hull to ensure all portions of the hull are recoated.
The Contractor will have an OEM representative or certified technician oversee the application process.
Notify the TPOC after completion of painting.
3] Cathodic protection anode replacement The TPOC will provide 10 new hull anodes. Remove and inspect all 10 installed anodes; two each P/S side tunnel at frame W, and three each P/S at each transom, for a total of ten (10) anodes. Reinstall anodes after bottom paint work is complete. Ensure new anodes make electrical contact with mounting brackets and bolts by testing continuity with a multi-meter.
4] Disassemble, clean, paint, reassemble jet parts A] With the help of FGBNMS staff, disassemble the port and starboard jet drive parts from the transom and inspect all components. Clean the individual jet components of marine growth, using pressure wash, wire brushes, and similar hand tools. Clean all major components, including 2 intake ducts, 2 stators, 2 nozzles, 2 buckets, and all attached devices and fittings.
B] Prior to painting and reassembly, the TPOC and the Contractor will inspect wear ring on jet drive’s impeller race. Notify TPOC prior to this work so FGBNMS staff may observe. If wear ring is showing signs of wear and tear, a replacement will be ordered by FGBNMS staff.
C] Repaint the jet parts with two coats of Micron CF anti-fouling paint and reassemble. The Contractor will use a blast medium approved for aluminum. Notify TPOC upon completion so they may inspect.
5] Annual life raft service Unship two each 16-person life rafts (DBC, SOLAS A) and transport to local DBC approved third party inspection service of yard’s choosing after consulting with TPOC. The third party will inspect and perform annual service on all rafts on yard’s account. Reinstall life rafts upon return, taking particular care to orient the rafts correctly with regard to drainage holes. The Contractor will coordinate the logistics of transport with approved third-party inspection service. Provide written inspection and service report to TPOC upon completion.
6] Starboard Generator Servicing Perform the following tasks on the starboard generator:
a) Replace all metallic fuel lines and hoses installed by the generator builder.
b) Clean and service heat exchanger. Pressure test after servicing.
