About this file

This document is a Questions & Answers (Q&A) file for Solicitation Number N6660425Q0483, providing clarifications about shipping container specifications. The Q&A addresses four key points: (1) confirmation of 4 factory doors, (2) container configuration details (specifically whether it's an open-sided container), (3) clarification on the term "New (One Trip)" which is confirmed as an industry standard, and (4) details about container style. Specifically, the government seeks a 40-foot High Cube container with 4 factory side doors, preferring a full open side style with internal dividing walls separating sections, rather than 4 separate individual containers. The document indicates that sample pictures were provided in a separate amendment to help vendors understand the exact requirements.

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS N6660425Q0483

1. Want to clarify that you say 4 factory doors.

a. Sample Pictures Provided in Amendment

2. To ensure we are sourcing the correct configuration, we would like to confirm whether this refers to: A container with 4 full-height swing doors along one side (commonly referred to as an open-sided container), OR A different layout (e.g., smaller access doors or multiple doors positioned on more than one side).

a. Sample Pictures Provided in Amendment

3. I just wanted to clarify the meaning of "New (One Trip)" as you're using it. For example, are you referring to a container that was shipped once with cargo—such as from China— and then placed into inventory for sale as new?

a. This aligns with our requirement. We are aware that this is an industry standard

4. I understand that this calls for 4 factory side doors on new 40HC containers. Will this be in the ‘quadcon’ style or the ‘full open side’ style?

a. I understand that this calls for 4 factory side doors on new 40HC containers.

Will this be in the ‘quadcon’ style or the ‘full open side’ style?- We are not sure what he means by “quadcon” style. We understand that a quadcon is 4 separate containers that can be linked together as one. Or does he mean, that the 40ft container is divided into 4 separate sections. We do not want 4 individual containers that equal 40 ft. I assume that this would be the full open side style.

We are ok with 1 40ft container that has internal dividing walls separating each section.
