Combined Synopsis and Solicitation
This is a combined synopsis and solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6 –Streamlined Procedures for Evaluation and Solicitation for Commercial Items, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotations are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This solicitation will be posted for less than fifteen (15) days in accordance with FAR 5.203(a)(2).
Request for Quote (RFQ) number is N66604-23-Q-0247. New Way Machine Components Inc. (New Way) (CAGE Code: 3JME0) is the only source of supply for the required Custom Air Spindle. New Way is the only company that can meet the schematics needed within the Government’s required delivery date. Required changes to this part deal with the support of the bearings. In the new design, a new bearing support is needed for a negative 20 degrees elevation. In order to use any other product for this effort the Government would need to develop a performance or build to print specification, compete the design, validate and test the design, and receive the fabricated unit from another vendor. Therefore, this acquisition can only be obtained through New Way.
This requirement is being solicited as a sole source requirement under North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code 332999. The Small Business Size Standard is 750 employees. This solicitation is not a request for competitive quotes. However, all quotes received by the closing date will be considered by the Government for future requirements. A determination not to compete this proposed requirement based on responses to this solicitation is solely within the discretion of the Government. Quotes received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement in the future.
