The Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWCDIVNPT) Code 15 Acceptance Testing

Procedure for Linear Tape Open (LTO) Tape Duplication Systems

Scope:

This document is to be used by the NUWCDIVNPT Data Management Team in Code 15 to evaluate the performance and LTO-7 (1:1) and LTO- 7 (1:2) tape duplication systems delivered under contract number N66604-19-P-2845, Contract Line Item Numbers (CLINs) 0001 and

0002.

Purpose:

This document establishes the steps that NUWCDIVNPT intends to follow to determine that

LTO-7 (1:1) and LTO-7 (1:2) tape duplication systems meet the minimum requirements, as listed in contract number N66604-19-P-2845, prior to acceptance.

NUWCDIVNPT Test Sequence:

Task 1: Create three (3) unique sample tapes with different recordings on each tape using

Government owned LTO-6 and LTO-7 tape drives.

Task 2: Use one (1) LTO-7 (1:1) tape duplication system (delivered under CLIN 0001) to perform duplication of the three (3) unique sample tapes created under Task 1. Duplication of

(3) unique tapes will be conducted in accordance to the contractor duplicator instruction manual.

NUWCDIVNPT procedural standard operating procedure used for label and tracking of media duplication.

Task 3: Use one (1) LTO-7 (1:2) tape duplication system (delivered under CLIN 0002) to perform duplication of the three (3) unique sample tapes created under Task 1. Duplication of

(3) unique tapes will be conducted in accordance to the contractor duplicator instruction manual.

NUWCDIVNPT procedural standard operating procedure used for label and tracking of media duplication.

Task 4: Compare the size and composition of the data on the nine (9) tapes created in Task 2 and

Task 3 to the three (3) sample tapes created in Task 1, using the NUWCDIVNPT network.

Task 5: All LTO-7 (1:1) and LTO-7 (1:2) (delivered under CLIN 0001 and CLIN 0002) master and write drive(s) shall be tested by NUWCDIVNPT prior to acceptance. Each drive master and copy drive(s) shall be tested by copying (1) one tape, to ensure basic drive functionality and no duplicator defective parts.

Acceptance Criteria:

The LTO-7 (1:1) and (1:2) units delivered under CLIN 0001 and CLIN 0002 will be accepted by

NUWCDIVNPT only if the size and composition of the data contained in all nine (9) tapes created under Task 2 and Task 3 are identical to the size and composition of the data contained in the three (3) sample tapes created under Task 1. All LTO-7 (1:1) and LTO-7 (1:2) (delivered under CLIN 0001 and CLIN 0002) master and write drive(s) shall be tested by the contractor methods prior to delivery. All units ordered under CLIN 0001 and CLIN 0002 shall be subject to undergo the acceptance testing procedures stated herein prior to acceptance by NUWCDIVNPT.

The LTO-7 (1:1) and LTO-7(1:2) master and write drivers delivered under CLIN 0001 and CLIN

0002 will be accepted by NUCWDIVNPT only if the size and composition of the data contained in the one (tape created under Task 5 is identical to the size and composition of the data contained in the sample tape .

Results:

If the LTO-7 units and master and writer drivers are deemed unacceptable, NUWCDIVNPT will provide results of the duplication errors to the Contractor and a solution will be agreed upon, implemented and tested for satisfactory operation at no additional cost to the Government before acceptance of the systems.
