SSC requires optic systems that will meet the following requirements.
LENS DETAILS:
I. Shall provide an effective focal length of 4500mm II. Shall provide a continuous zoom capability III. Shall provide a minimum focal length of 1000mm or less IV. Should have a minimum focus distance of not more than 1 mile at the narrow end of the zoom range V. Should have a minimum focus distance of not more than 300 feet at the wide end of the zoom range VI. Shall include a clear aperture diameter of at least 178mm VII. Shall resolve within 10% of the diffraction limit at the wide field of view VIII. Shall resolve within 5% of the diffraction limit at the narrow field of view IX. Shall be designed to image over a nominal spectral band from 390nm to 700nm X. Should use best practices to minimize straylight/ghosting through the system to include durable high-efficiency anti-reflection coatings XI. Shall include a motorized iris XII. Shall include a motorized focus/zoom A. Shall be capable of full range zoom in ≤20 seconds B. Focus speed shall be adjustable XIII. Shall include the center of gravity location as a part of the documentation package XIV. Lens should be parfocalized across the zoom range XV. Shall include a Camera Link over fiber extender with the following attributes:
A. Shall utilize LC duplex multimode fiber cables B. Shall operate on a 12VDC or 24VDC power supply C. Shall support Camera Link base, dual base, medium, and full D. The “To Camera” side shall be installed in the lens housing E. The “To Framegrabber” side shall be included upon delivery XVI. Shall utilize the software interface protocol as described in the attached document except the commands that mention a filter wheel XVII. Shall utilize RS-422 Serial communications for lens control XVIII. Shall maintain optical alignment throughout the full zoom range XIX. The lens shall operate on 24VDC at no more than 100W (excluding heating element, camera, and PHOX) XX. Shall include a heating element that heats the front of the lens A. The heating element shall be powered by 240VAC B. The heating element shall be controlled by a fixed-point thermal switch XXI. The system shall be fully operational in the temperature range of -10°C to 60°C XXII. Should be designed to withstand the rigors of a salty, coastal marine environment XXIII. Shall be installed in a pressurized housing A. Shall include a pressure relief valve B. Shall include a Schrader valve with a cap secured to the lens assembly C. Shall include an internal pressure gauge visible from the exterior XXIV. Shall include the following connectors and connections. Each connector shall include a cap that is secured to the lens assembly
1. Circular Connector, PT07C-12-3P, Amphenol, with 10-101964-123 cap A. 240VAC Line B. 240VAC Neutral C. 240VAC Ground
2. Circular Connector, PT07C-12-8PZ, Amphenol, with 10-101964-123 cap
A. 12VDC
B. 24V GND
C. 12V GND
D. TX-_RS422
E. 24VDC
F. TX+_RS422
G. RX+_RS422
H. RX-_RS422
RS422 communication will originate with a Comtrol Devicemaster RTS Serial Device Server. Comtrol lists its pin-out as follows. These pins are connected to a circular connector in the following manner.
| 2: Rx- | H |
| 3: Tx- | D |
| 7: Tx+ | F |
| 8: Rx+ | G |
The cabling between these devices goes straight through. Therefore, the pin-outs provided for PT07C-12-8PZ are showing what the lens will be interfacing with.
3. Circular Connector, PT07C-12-8PX, Amphenol, with 10-101964-123 cap A. No Connect B. No Connect C. No Connect D. No Connect E. No Connect F. No Connect G. No Connect H. No Connect
4. Industrial Fiber Optic Connector, QPC brand, SW-22144[footnoteRef:1] [1: QPC SW-22144 includes a 15” cable to connect to the PHOX. If 15” is not enough, please contact QPC for a new part number.]
Fiber optic cable connected to PHOX (XIV-B)
5. 75 Ohm Bulkhead BNC Connector, 6744, Pomona (Or equivalent) and generic cap No Connect XXV. Shall include internal humidity indicators that are visible from the outside of the lens XXVI. Should be white XXVII. System shall be fully assembled and tested before delivery XXVIII. Shall be provided as a single deliverable system XXIX. Shall include the dimensions required for mounting as a part of the documentation package XXX. Should be packaged for transport in a reusable container that has been designed with worldwide international shipping as a consideration.
XXXI. Vendor shall host a Factory Acceptance test at their facility to accommodate up to 2 government representatives for acceptance of the product A. Lens will be used with GOTS software to prove the functionality of the software protocol B. Test should not take longer than 1 eight-hour day XXXII. Lens shall include an integrated visible camera that has been installed and aligned. Camera requirements are listed below A. Camera shall be the Imperx Bobcat B1620, camera link configuration
Shall ‘Shall’ indicates a requirement. A requirement must be unambiguous and testable. All requirements shall be verified to SSC’s satisfaction upon delivery of the system.
Should ‘Should’ indicates a design goal and does not constitute a pass or fail test. ‘Should’ will also be used when there is subjectivity to what is stated.
Required Quantities:
