About this file

This document is a Justification for Other Than Full and Open Competition for the acquisition of Siemens Circuit Breakers for the Department of the Navy Strategic Weapons Facility, Atlantic (SWFLANT). The requirement is for Siemens Circuit Breaker part number 15-GMI-750-1200-58, which are no longer manufactured and cannot be replaced with other manufacturers' breakers without replacing the entire switchgear system, an effort that would cost multiple millions of dollars. The Contracting Officer has determined that this procurement meets the criteria for a brand name justification under FAR 13.106(b)(1)(ii). Market research identified no other available sources for the required breakers. The requirement will be synopsized on SAM.gov, and all quotes will be evaluated for fair and reasonable pricing. If this procurement is not approved, it will result in an interruption to the SWFLANT mission that supports the Fleet.
