Mid-Atlantic Regional Calibration Center and Puget Sound Naval Shipyard High Flow Calibration Standards.

1. INTRODUCTION

The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Corona (NSWCCO) Division, Measurement Science and Engineering Department perform Metrology, Test, and Monitoring Systems Assessment supporting the NAVSEA Metrology and Calibration (METCAL) Program. Measurement Science and Engineering Department sets the measurement science and calibration standards to support proper weapons operation, interoperability and peak readiness for the fleet

2. BACKGROUND

The existing Flow Calibration Standards at Mid-Atlantic Regional Calibration Center (MARCC) and Puget Sound Naval Shipyard (KBS) are in need of replacement as the current systems have aged and are no longer operative. The Flow Calibration Standards will be used by civilian Navy personnel in shore-based depot level laboratories at MARCC and KBS for calibration of a wide variety of liquid flowmeters.

3. SCOPE

The scope of this effort is to procure two (2) High Flow Primary Calibration Standards for the MARCC Calibration Center and KBS Shipyard Calibration Laboratories. Flowmeters requiring calibration include but are not limited to:

turbine flowmeters, variable area flowmeters, positive displacement flowmeters, and Coriolis type flowmeters. The high-flow configuration shall, at a minimum, cover the range of 0.4 to 400 GPM.
