STATEMENT OF WORK

The subject procurement is a technical refreshment of the components of the voting system utilized in the Navy’s Selection Board process. This is a routine, planned/phased refreshment of equipment at end-of-life and maintenance/warranty coverage. The new components are direct replacements.

It is absolutely essential that the replacement components be identical in compatibility and functionality to the original voting system by Meridia. The Electronic Military Personnel Record System (EMPRS), which includes the Selection Board module is a highly proprietary and fully integrated information technology system costing over $40 million. Due to the high level of integration, changing any component or altering functionality of the system is an extremely time-consuming and expensive endeavor. Additionally, it places the overall system functionality at risk. Adherence to the original design standards is critical.

As an extra precaution, the EMPRS technical staff conducted extensive testing of the requested components to ensure 100% compatibility with the existing infrastructure. All tests indicate full compatibility and functionality. Meridia also offers an extensive warranty/service coverage on these products over their lifespan.
