SUMMARY OF CHANGES

SECTION SF 30 - BLOCK 14 CONTINUATION PAGE

The following have been added by full text:

RESPONSE TO BIDDER'S QUESTIONS

1) Does MSC want to retain the physical throttle controls for the bow thrusters and stern thrusters?

What about RPM displays and pushbuttons, such as available, enabled, etc.?

a) MSC requires that physical throttles are utilized in the new design. The existing throttles shall be replaced with new. To the greatest extent possible, and where allowed by ABS, SOLAS, and

USCG Rules and Regulations, existing indication, alarms, push buttons, etc. shall be incorporated into HMI screens.

2) Can the existing FMEA for the MCC be provided?

a) The existing FMEA and DVTP will be listed as GFI 13.42 and is available upon request.

3) Does MSC want to retain the functionality of the handrails and the space to the right of the EOT for a clipboard or notebook?

a) Yes.

4) What does “MCS Upgrade” mean in the MS Excel spreadsheet provided as Attachment 1?

a) This column indicates equipment that shall be upgraded as part of this modification and incorporated into the MCS.

5) For the docking GPS, does MSC want two separate speeds (fore/aft and port/starboard) or single speed with a vector denoting the direction of travel?

a) Two separate speed indicators shall be displayed. One shall be provided indicating the speed of the vessel fore and aft and a second indicating the speed of the vessel port and starboard.

6) How far to the port side of the bridge can the new console be extended?

a) MSC will accept designs conforming to all applicable ABS, USCG, SOLAS, and MSC regulations so long as the new console does not extend past the port bulkhead of the chart room.

7) What is the quality of the power on the vessel?

a) Ship service power has been documented to contain approximately 26% THD. However, non‐ emergency, clean sources of power are available through motor generator sets and solid state frequency converters.

8) What HMI software was used to develop the existing MCS?

N62387-15-R-8006

a) MSC believes that all signals to or from the Dynamic Position (DP) system are routed through the SCC. All existing functionality of the DP system must be retained after the SCC replacement is complete.

11) How many HMIs can be added to the existing system?

a) The system can support a total of 20 HMIs with minimal modifications required.

12) Where is closest HMI to bridge?

a) There is an HMI in the Chief Engineer’s Office (02‐22‐2) which is directly below the bridge.

13) Are there existing spare fiber optic cables running between the EOS and Bridge?

a) Yes, there are two spare pairs of fiber optic cables running between the EOS and Bridge.

However, these spare pairs shall be retained. Additionally, two spare pairs of fiber optic cables shall be provided by the contractor for the new AMCS RIO.

a) No, the 3CM RADAR would be removed from its current pedestal and the components integrated into the new SCC.

a) Provided they meet all applicable regulatory body requirements, the new monitors in the SCC do not have to be the same as what is installed in the MCC.

16) Can MSC provide a copy of tech manual T9561‐AJ‐MMO‐010?
