Solicitation N4523A21Q5722 75 Ton Bridge Crane Q&A #1
Q: The specification states PLC and HMI, is this application needing a PLC/HMI?
A: If the Offeror uses a PLC and/or HMI in the design, then the Offeror must meet the requirements in paragraph 1.4.5.6.1 and 2.2.14.1. HMI’s help the end user troubleshoot the equipment without opening the cabinets, depending on how they are setup. HMI’s are typically stand alone and do not interfere with a specific function. PLC’s tend to use less space in control cabinets.
