Q&A N40443-16-T-0516
USNS RAINIER OILY WASTE REMOVAL
The following is a response to questions / concerns received and does not constitute a change to the solicitation.
QUESTION 1:
Has the 35,000 gallons of fuel/water mixture already been generated? Or, will the waste be generated during the period of performance (29 August 2016 thru 02 September 2016)? Our concern is that demurrage due to project operations outside of our control will incur significant costs. We would like to know if our trucks can get to the vessel, offload and transport off-site without waiting for waste to be generated.
ANSWER 1:
The USNS RAINIER has approximately 16,000 gallons of fuel oil-water mixture in its contaminated tanks ready to be pumped out. The remaining 19,000 (approximately) gallons will be generated during the cleaning & wash down of the cargo tanks and the fuel oil service tanks in the engine room.
