ANSWERS TO RFCS
SPECIFICATION ITEM NO.: 562
PARAGRAPH / SECTION NO: 7.4.5
TITLE: SCBA ANNUAL INSPECTION
QUESTION:
7.4.5 Replace low pressure hoses that exceed five (5) years in service. For estimating purposes, assume five (5) require replacement.
Please provide the PN for the LP hoses. The model listed in 3.1.2 99696-01 is for the cylinder not the SCBA unit.
ANSWER: Please work with the OEM (you plan to hire for the WI) on the PN for the LP hose. They would have the part number for them.
The type/Model number that the ship current have are the Interspiro S4 and Interspiro S6.
SPECIFICATION ITEM NO.: 0301
PARAGRAPH / SECTION NO: Title
TITLE: ____TAKE_CSI_CLEANING MAIN GENERATORS AND PROPULSION CONTROL SYSTEM (2.5 YR) (SCSI)
QUESTION: Specification provided for item 0301 is not the same as listed in the J-2 price sheet. Please advise.
ANSWER: The correct title for work item 301 is “AMPLIFY 1JV CIRCUIT IN EOS AND BRIDGE” J-2 and section C will be updated.
SPECIFICATION ITEM NO.: 565
PARAGRAPH / SECTION NO: 7.7
TITLE: FIXED GAS FIREFIGHTING SYSTEM INSPECTION AND TEST (1 YR)
7.7 Perform an internal inspection of all fire extinguishing system control valves every 5 years. Accomplish Reference 2.1.8, sections A and B on all valves.
Are 5-year control valve internal inspection due?
ANSWER: We are not in our 5 year inspection window.
SPECIFICATION ITEM NO.: 567_
PARAGRAPH / SECTION NO: 7.6.3
TITLE: FIXED FOAM FIREFIGHTING SYSTEM INSPECTION AND TEST (1 YR)
QUESTION:
7.6.3 In addition to the annual maintenance, accomplish the following maintenance on the fixed foam firefighting system:
a. Once every 5 years, conduct a functional test of all foam proportioners or other foam fixing devices to confirm that the mixing ratio is within +30 to -10% of the nominal mixing ratio defined by the system approval. Collect a sample and verify the ratio via refractometer and report test results to the MSCREP using Reference 2.1.2 for guidance.
b. Once every 5 years, temporarily remove and check the pressure-vacuum vent valve on the concentrate storage tanks. While vent is removed, make certain that the opening is not blocked, and that dirt or other foreign objects do not enter the tank. Flush, clean, inspect and lubricate the valve and all components ensuring proper operation. Reinstall with new gasket upon completion.
c. Once every 5 years, open, clean and inspect the control valves, pressure regulating valves, pressure reducing valves and relief valves. Accomplish Reference 2.1.6, sections A and B on all valves. Layout components for MSCREP and ABS inspection. Reassemble using new gaskets, seals, diaphragms, rings, and soft goods upon completion of any authorized repair.
d. Once every 5 years, flush all high expansion foam system piping with fresh water, drain and purge with air.
e. Once every 5 years, check all nozzles to prove they are clear of debris.
f. Once every 5 years, test all foam proportioners or other foam mixing devices to confirm that the mixing ration tolerance is within +30 to -10% of the nominal mixing ration defined by the system approval.
Are the 5-year services due for a, b, c, d, e, and f.
ANSWER: We are not in our 5 year inspection window.
SPECIFICATION ITEM NO.: 569
PARAGRAPH / SECTION NO: 7.6.2
TITLE: FIRE AND SMOKE DETECTION ALARM SYSTEM (1 YR)
7.6.2 For estimating purposes assume five (5) heat and twenty (20) smoke detectors and ten (10) pull stations will require replacement.
Please provide part numbers and manufacture for prespecified detectors and pull stations.
ANSWER: A revision will be made to the WI to remove this requirement. If anything arise during the Inspection, a CFR will be utilized to replace any equipment needed during the availability.
SPECIFICATION ITEM NO.: 572
PARAGRAPH / SECTION NO: 7.1 & 7.6
TITLE: DEEP FAT FRYER AND RANGE FIRE EXTINGUISHING SYSTEM (1 YR)
QUESTION:
7.1 Inspect, service, recharge, and test all Deep Fat Fryer, Grill and Range Hood Fire Extinguishing Systems using References 2.1.1 through 2.1.5 and Enclosures 2.2.1 through 2.2.3 for guidance.
Contractor cannot determine if recharges are needed before inspection please provide a estimation or if contractor shall inspect and report service work found due.
7.6 If hydrostatic test is due or insufficient charge is noted during inspection or maintenance:
Are any hydrostatic test due?
Shall contractor inspect and submit a Condition Found Report for any service work found due?
ANSWER: For paragraph 7.1, provide a Condition Found Report (CFR) to capture any recharges during the inspection.
For paragraph 7.6, there should not be any Hydrostatic test due. But if they are, please capture the requirement in a CFR.
SPECIFICATION ITEM NO.: 575
PARAGRAPH / SECTION NO: 7.6, 7.6.1, & 7.6.2

7.2.1 SY Contractor shall remove, re-fabricate, weld and install NEW waste drain piping on in locations stated in paragraph 3.
Please provide the locations where the additional piping noted in the specification is to be installed.
ANSWER: The Locations are found in 3.1. There are no additional locations. Also measurements are also approximations. They can be longer or short. That is why Ship-checking the Work item is ideal.
Also, Paragraph 3.2 are for bidding purposes. Also, taken into account, there will be piping wastage when cutting the pipe material and make allowances for approximations.
